TAG Airlines sells flights from Guatemala City to four other Guatemalan towns: Flores (for Tikal), Puerto Barrios, Quetzaltenango and Retalhuleu. Its website publishes the rules in detail (fare families, the 20 lb domestic bag cap, card-only payment, no refunds) but no timetable and no standalone fares: you only see flight prices in its booking search. TAG publishes no standalone fare. It does publish Petén packages (return flight, hotel with breakfast, airport transfers and a guided Tikal tour, 3 days and 2 nights) from USD 305 per adult (Hotel Petén Express, single occupancy) to USD 550 (Hotel Casona del Lago, single occupancy, peak season). Everything below was read on TAG’s own pages on 24 September 2026, except the Flores timetable, which comes from FlightsFrom (read 12 September 2026).

None of these pages prints a flight number, a departure time or a fare. TAG’s printed conditions add that it cannot guarantee flight times, that schedules can change without notice, and that it is not responsible for making connections.

We found no published timetable for TAG’s Puerto Barrios, Quetzaltenango or Retalhuleu flights: TAG’s pages carry none, and FlightsFrom returned HTTP 403 to us for all four routes on 24 September 2026.

Baggage: the 20 lb rule
The number that catches people is 20 lb. On a domestic TAG flight each checked piece may weigh up to 20 lb (9 kg) and measure up to 22 x 12 x 12 inches (60 x 35 x 35 cm); every extra pound costs USD 3. International TAG flights allow 35 lb (15 kg). TAG says the limit applies both to passengers starting their trip and to those connecting, so a suitcase that met a long-haul airline’s allowance can still be over TAG’s.
Booking, paying and the rules that bind you
- Cards only. TAG’s FAQ says it accepts credit and debit cards and no cash or other means.
- Non-refundable. The conditions printed on every TAG page say all tickets and packages are non-refundable under any circumstance, and that buyers waive card chargebacks on web purchases.
- Changes close to departure: within 4 hours of departure, USD 100 plus the fare difference.
- Missed the flight: TAG’s conditions give a no-show 4 hours to rebook for USD 100 and state that after 48 hours the ticket is lost.
- Name changes: only to correct a misspelling, through the call centre, +502 2380-9400.
- ID: for a domestic flight TAG asks for an identity document, valid and in good condition; for international flights a passport or CA-4 identity document.
At the airport
- Arrive 2 hours before a domestic flight (3 for international, per the conditions).
- All flights close 45 minutes before departure.
- TAG’s Guatemala City office is at Avenida Hincapié and 18 calle, zona 13, Hangar 15 (+502 2380-9400). TAG’s pages do not say which terminal domestic flights board from, so check your booking confirmation.
- Domestic baggage claims (damage or partial loss) must be made within five days, per the conditions.
Flight or bus?
- Flores: one hour in the air against 9-10 hours on the Pullman buses AtitlanTour resells (night 9 hours, day 10 hours; read 24 September 2026). See the night bus guide if you would rather save the hotel night.
