Lanquín to Flores: Shuttles, Prices & Times [2026]

Lanquín to Flores is the leg that turns a Semuc Champey stop into a Petén trip, and it is one of the few well-travelled pairs in Guatemala where only one mode of transport exists. No bus to compare against, no overnight option, no second departure. What you actually choose is which shuttle company to hand US$35 to US$45 to — and whether to stop in Flores at all.

The other thing to know before booking: the operators do not agree on how long the trip takes, or on where in Lanquín the van collects you. That disagreement is printed below exactly as each company publishes it.

Quick summary

• One mode only. No bus operator publishes this pair. The tourist shuttle is the route.
• Published fares: US$35 (Champey Travels), US$37 (Cobán Travels), US$40 (Guatemala Transportation), US$45 (Adrenalina Tours), US$325 for a private transfer.
• One published clock time: 08:00 from Lanquín, on both Adrenalina’s and Guatemala Transportation’s schedules. The Marvelus operators publish “1 times a day” with no hour.
• Duration is disputed: 8 hours per Adrenalina, 7 hours per Marvelus Travel for all three of its operators. We do not average them.
• Four different boarding points are published for the same small town — confirm yours on the booking.
• A through-product exists: Adrenalina sells Lanquín straight to Tikal for US$85 in 9 hours, skipping the Flores stop.

The shuttle products

A fifth seller publishes the same departure hour: Guatemala Transportation lists “Shuttle Lanquin to Flores at 08:00am - USD$40 p/p” on its own schedule page, with no duration and no boarding point attached. Champey Travels and Cobán Travels are both sold as 14-passenger shared minivans. The Alvarado product is listed as a private transfer, yet Marvelus’s own trip note for it describes “a Shared Minivan for 06 PAX” — worth settling with the seller before paying roughly nine times the shared fare.

Adrenalina’s rules on its US$45 seat are unusually firm: the service must be reserved and prepaid 48 hours in advance (“We only guarantee the service if prepaid 48 hours in advance”); collective shuttles are “NOT punctual”, so be ready 15 minutes early and call if the van is 15 minutes late; not every shuttle is direct, since “there is a possibility that they are a few connections”; and drivers do not knock — “people have to wait in front of the hotel”. Champey Travels asks for 10 minutes of margin rather than 15. The same Adrenalina service is published as leaving Cobán at 10:00 AM, two hours after Lanquín.

Straight through to Tikal — US$85

The option almost nobody surfaces: Adrenalina also sells a “Collective Shuttle + Private transport Coban or Lanquin to Tikal” at US$85 per person, leaving Lanquín at 08:00 AM from the same El Recreo bus station, published at 9 hours.

That is US$40 more than the same company’s Flores seat for one extra published hour, and it removes the onward transfer at the far end. Guatemala’s Ministry of Culture puts Tikal at 63 km from Flores, about an hour’s drive, so the real comparison is US$85 delivered to the park against US$45 plus whatever that last hour costs you. Why there is no bus

Three separate checks on 12 September 2026 all came back empty:

1. CheckMyBus — which does index Antigua→Flores and Flores→Belize City — returned HTTP 404 or 410 for every Lanquín spelling tried, including lanquin/flores-gt and san-agustin-lanquin/flores-gt.
2. Fuente del Norte, the dominant Petén bus line, lists its complete station set in its own booking engine: Guatemala, Aguilar Batres, Sayaxché, El Naranjo, Melchor de Mencos, Santa Elena/Flores, Esquipulas, Belize City and Quetzaltenango. Lanquín does not appear, and neither does Cobán.
3. No second departure and no night service is published on this pair by any source read that day.

We are not going to tell you why, because no source read supports a road or junction explanation. The honest finding is the negative one: nobody publishes a bus here, and every published option is a tourist shuttle.

The boarding-point problem

Four companies publish four different places to stand in a town you can walk across in minutes:

• Adrenalina Tours — “Bus station next to hotel EL RECREO in Lanquin”
• Champey Travels — “Parking Hotel El Recreo”
• Cobán Travels — “next Health center of Lanquin”
• Adrenalina, return leg from Flores — the only pick-up and drop-off point it publishes in Lanquín is the “EXXON” gas station

Treat the point printed on your own booking confirmation as the only one that counts, and message the operator the day before to confirm it. Adrenalina publishes a single contact number for exactly this — “The only number is 00502 5308 5106” — and flags its own timetable as possibly out of date.

One hard limit: Adrenalina states it serves hotels in the centre of Lanquín only and will not collect near Semuc Champey. From a Semuc-side lodge you need your own ride into town before the 08:00 departure — which is also why the Semuc day and the Flores day cannot be the same day. Where you are actually dropped

Both Adrenalina and the Marvelus operators drop at the entrance to Flores — Adrenalina specifies the I love Peten letters — and not at the Terminal Nueva bus station, which sits 1.5 km south of the causeway to the island. From that station, Wikivoyage puts a tuk-tuk to the island at Q15 per person, “as of 2026”.
