Quick summary

Three operators sell a direct shuttle from Antigua to San Pedro La Laguna, and one of them also reaches San Marcos, San Juan and San Pablo La Laguna. Everything below was read on the operators’ own pages on 25 September 2026.

  • Atitrans: 09:00 and 14:00 every day, from USD 20, a published 4:30 hours, drop-off at the Muelle de San Pedro (the pier).
  • Adrenalina Tours: 08:30 and 14:00 every day, USD 25, a published 4 hours, drop-off at Port San Pedro; it collects only from hotels in the centre of Antigua and asks for 48 hours’ notice.
  • Guatemala Transportation: 08:30 or 14:00, USD 25, to San Pedro, San Marcos, San Juan or San Pablo La Laguna. It publishes no duration, pickup address or drop point.

The alternative is a Panajachel shuttle (USD 18-25; AtitlanTour and Guatemala Transportation leave at 05:30, 08:00, 12:30 and 16:00) plus a lancha at Q25. It is not cheaper than Atitrans’ direct seat from USD 20; its advantage is the 05:30 departure, the earliest in these timetables.

On currency: Guatemala Transportation states “ALL prices are in USD$ (for reference), USD$1 = Q8 Quetzales”. On 12 September 2026 the Banco de Guatemala reference rate was Q7.62817, so paying its USD 25 fare in cash quetzales costs Q200 against Q190.70, about 4.9% more. Atitrans and Adrenalina state no conversion rate. Check today’s quetzal rate before paying in quetzales.

Going to San Marcos, San Juan or San Pablo instead

Guatemala Transportation is the only one of the three that sells a direct seat beyond San Pedro. Its schedule lists Antigua to San Juan La Laguna, San Marcos La Laguna and San Pablo La Laguna at 08:30 or 14:00 for USD 25, the same times and fare as its San Pedro shuttle. It publishes no drop point in any of those villages, so ask where the van stops when you pay.

Atitrans’ Antigua catalogue (16 products) and Adrenalina’s Antigua shuttle page list San Pedro as their only lake village other than Panajachel. If you want one of those operators, the other ways to San Marcos are:

  • Panajachel shuttle plus the public boat. The Asociación de Lancheros San Juan Bautista runs Panajachel to San Juan La Laguna, calling at Santa Cruz, Jaibalito, Tzununá, San Marcos and San Pablo, for Q25 per person to any of those villages. Details are in Panajachel to San Marcos.
  • San Pedro shuttle, then onward. The association’s published route starts at San Juan and does not list the San Pedro dock, so we have no sourced fare or timetable for San Pedro to San Marcos by boat.

Coming back from San Marcos: Guatemala Transportation’s schedule has a San Pedro to Antigua departure (05:00 and 08:30, USD 25) but no San Marcos to Antigua row. On what it publishes, the way back to Antigua from San Marcos runs through San Pedro or Panajachel.

Step by step: taking the direct shuttle

  1. Pick the morning pair or the afternoon run. Mornings are 08:30 (Adrenalina, Guatemala Transportation) or 09:00 (Atitrans); afternoons are 14:00 with all three. 14:00 is the last departure of the day on every timetable; no evening run is published.
  2. Book and pay in advance. Adrenalina asks for 48 hours’ notice. Guatemala Transportation calls this a “Service by Reservation with Partial/Complete Payment Only”, takes payment through its office (open 8am-7pm, UTC-6) and states that reservation payments are non-refundable. Its published contacts are +502-5562-4174 (phone and WhatsApp) and info@guatemalatransportation.com. Atitrans publishes +(502) 3465-2828 (24/7), +(502) 7820-3434 and shuttle@atitrans.net, with business hours of Monday to Sunday, 7am to 7pm.
  3. Be at a pickup point the operator names. Atitrans’ San Pedro product now lists Parqueo 7ma Av. Norte #90 as its pickup, including in the booking form (re-read 23 October 2026). Adrenalina collects from hotels in central Antigua. Guatemala Transportation publishes no Antigua pickup address, so get one in writing.
  4. Plan the day on the published durations. On Adrenalina’s 4 hours, its 08:30 reaches San Pedro around 12:30 and its 14:00 around 18:00. On Atitrans’ 4:30 hours, its 09:00 arrives around 13:30 and its 14:00 around 18:30.
  5. Get out at the pier. Atitrans (Muelle de San Pedro) and Adrenalina (Port San Pedro) both publish a drop at the San Pedro waterfront.

The Panajachel and lancha alternative

The road leg to Panajachel costs USD 18 with AtitlanTour and USD 20 with Guatemala Transportation, both at 05:30, 08:00, 12:30 and 16:00; Atitrans sells it from USD 20 and Adrenalina Tours at USD 25 (read 25 September 2026). The public boats of the Asociación de Lancheros San Juan Bautista board at the San Juan embarcadero and at the Tzanjuyú area of Panajachel. Its published hours (page stamped 4 April 2025, read 24 September 2026, translated from Spanish):

The Municipalidad de Panajachel, for its part, lists boats “A cada hora” (every hour) from the Tzanjuyú dock and the public beach (read 25 September 2026); the two sources disagree on frequency.

The asymmetry is the trap: the association publishes Panajachel–San Juan service until 19:00 and San Juan–Panajachel until 17:30; these are service windows for its own route, not a guaranteed last boat from every village (re-read 23 October 2026). Plan your return for 16:30 and confirm the day’s last departure at the dock. The association also asks passengers to wear a life jacket and ask the captain how to use it, and warns that the swell on the lake sometimes turns strong because of the winds. Getting back to Antigua or the airport

Adrenalina’s daytime return picks up at the Benjy Travel office in San Pedro and drops near the central park in Antigua; its two pages give different departure times for the same product, so confirm the time when you book. Its 20:00 overnight run picks up in front of The Alegre Pub and drops at your hotel. Guatemala Transportation’s airport run is a shared shuttle via Antigua; if you have a flight, our Lake Atitlán to the airport guide works back from the departure time.

What to book, and when

All three operators sell a reserved seat, not a turn-up-and-go service. Two blanks matter before you pack or count heads:

  • Luggage: Adrenalina’s Antigua to San Pedro booking page allows one big bag and one handbag and charges USD 10 for each extra bag (read 25 September 2026); its general shuttle FAQ gives 16 kilos for the suitcase and 7 kilos for hand luggage, and half the ticket price for an extra piece such as a surfboard (read 24 September 2026). Atitrans’ terms allow one carry-on bag and one suitcase, charge US$5 for each additional piece depending on space, and ask for oversized luggage to be reported in advance (read 24 September 2026). Guatemala Transportation publishes no allowance on the pages we read, so ask before you pay.
  • None of the three publishes a minimum-passenger condition on these departures. Guatemala Transportation attaches a three-passenger minimum to some of its other runs, so the absence here is informative, but it is not a promise.

What is not published

  • A chicken-bus fare from Antigua to San Pedro or San Marcos. None of the pages we read publishes one.
  • A private-transfer price for this route. The Private Transportation menu on Atitrans’ site lists Guatemala City and Panajachel, not Antigua (menu read 25 September 2026); Guatemala Transportation says only that private service “can be scheduled at any time according to your needs”, priced on request.
  • Guatemala Transportation’s drop point in San Pedro, San Marcos, San Juan or San Pablo.
  • The lancha crossing time. Our boat source publishes hours, frequency and a fare, not minutes per crossing.
  • A tuk-tuk fare from the San Pedro pier or a walking time into the village.
