For La Aurora (GUA), follow your airline’s passenger-terminal instructions: Volaris names the north terminal, while domestic passengers should confirm their entrance and check-in point directly with their carrier. For Uber, follow the pickup point assigned in the app. If you drive, check the tariff at entry: the parking prices below are historical reports, followed by a later judicial-intervention announcement.

How to plan your departure or arrival
- Confirm the passenger entrance with your airline. Volaris identifies the north terminal. For domestic travel, ask where passengers check in rather than navigating to an office or hangar address.
- Follow your carrier’s arrival requirement. TAG’s conditions require two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. They also state that flights close 45 minutes before departure. Its FAQ says counter check-in can be performed two hours before departure and mentions online check-in; international passengers should still follow the earlier arrival requirement in its conditions. Have the ticket issued by the carrier ready.
- Check your ticket’s tax breakdown. Ask the airline which airport or departure charges are included and whether anything remains payable separately before setting aside cash for a supposed airport fee.
- Arrange assistance before travel. Ask the airline about the passenger route, wheelchair assistance, any charge and required notice for your particular flight.
- Arrange your onward ride through your chosen channel. For Uber, follow the app instructions below. For a taxi, ask airport staff where taxis are dispatched and confirm the fare before boarding.
Quick summary: Confirm your airline’s entrance, check-in deadline and ticket charges. Save your transport details before arriving. Treat older announcements and historical parking prices as dated information.
International and domestic terminals
Volaris places its departures in the north terminal. This airline-specific instruction should not be applied to every flight. For domestic travel, confirm the passenger entrance and check-in point directly with your carrier. TAG’s Guatemala office listing is not confirmation of a domestic departure terminal.
Wi-Fi, food and luggage storage
Wi-Fi — historical announcement, 6 June 2024. AGN reported that DGAC had introduced free Wi-Fi at La Aurora. This older-than-twelve-months announcement does not guarantee connectivity today. Ask airport staff for the network and access instructions, and save essential journey details before arriving.
Food. Volaris describes a restaurant area, banking services and exchange offices. If you need a meal before boarding, check what is open before choosing where to wait.
Nearby luggage storage. Radical Storage lists a hotel near La Aurora requiring an online reservation. It showed as closed when checked, accepts neither walk-ins nor cash, and says the address is provided after booking. Confirm bookable availability before making a detour. This is a nearby hotel listing, not airport-operated storage inside the terminal.
For lounge access, see the separate La Aurora lounges guide. For misplaced belongings, see airport lost and found.
Currency exchange and cash
Global Exchange lists international-arrivals offices on the first level, airside: in the south finger opposite immigration counters, in baggage claim opposite the Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria (SAT), and in the south finger before immigration. It also lists an office on the third level in the public international-departures area.
The operator lists 05:00 - 01:00, open all year, and Visa and Mastercard credit/debit payments. These are exchange offices; their locations do not identify ATMs, and card acceptance does not promise cash withdrawals. Ask your bank about withdrawal charges and limits before travel.
Uber pickup and airport taxis
Open Uber when ready, choose an option suited to your group and luggage, and follow the assigned pickup directions. Uber says pickup points may vary by terminal and the assigned location may not be the nearest exit.
Before entering, compare the driver’s name, license plate and car color with the app. If you cannot find the driver, contact them through the app. Uber warns against solicitors offering Uber rides inside the terminal or in ground-transportation areas. Check the actual trip price in the app when requesting.
For a taxi, ask airport staff where taxis are dispatched and confirm the fare before boarding. No fixed taxi fare or pickup door is promised here. For the return journey from Antigua, see Antigua to Guatemala City Airport.
Parking: historical tariff and later judicial intervention
Tariff reported on 9 October 2025
Soy502 reported Q20 for four hours and Q10 for each additional hour. Prensa Libre’s report from the same date described Q20 for up to four hours and Q10 for each additional hour. Both reports are older than twelve months; neither confirms today’s price.
Soy502 attributed to DGAC that the increase had not been notified to airport administration and that the company operated without a current contract. It identified the administrator at that time as Constructores y Consultores Viales, Sociedad Anónima. These are statements from 9 October 2025, not confirmation of the current concession holder.
What DGAC said on 19 February 2026
AGN reported that PGN notified the intervention of the parking area occupied by Cocvisa under a resolution of the Juzgado Quinto de Primera Instancia Civil. According to DGAC, the judicial intervenor would supervise income, direct funds toward payments owed to DGAC, and ensure recording and oversight. The announcement also said an audit would examine unauthorized subletting and that private profit would be temporarily halted pending the court ruling to recover the state property.
DGAC said parking would continue operating to guarantee service to users. That dated assurance does not establish current hours, a new concession contract or a replacement tariff.
Read the posted tariff before entering and ask how your intended stay is charged, how payment works and what applies to a lost ticket. For overnight parking, confirm permission and the total charge directly; do not multiply a historical hourly rate into an assumed daily maximum.
Travel Rent a Car: an off-site daily-parking listing
The operator’s undated additional-services page lists Daily parking (Parqueo Diario): Q50.00 per day.
Its published address is 15 calle A 7-52 zona 13 Aurora 1, Guatemala, Guatemala. The page gives +(502) 23172800 and +(502) 35666771. Call to confirm non-renter eligibility, your dates, payment, whether parking is covered and whether a terminal transfer is included before planning around this listing.
Accessibility
Historical announcement, 22 September 2022: AGN reported special-service immigration counters for people with official and diplomatic passports, crew, wheelchair users and people with baby strollers, among others. This older-than-twelve-months report concerns immigration attention; it does not establish today’s wheelchair booking or rental arrangements. Confirm assistance and your passenger route with the airline.
