La Aurora International Airport (GUA, called AILA locally) runs a system for returning items forgotten inside the airport or during boarding, together with Guatemala’s civil aviation authority, the Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC). This page lists the contact channels and the steps, and the split that decides who you call: the airport for items lost inside the airport facilities, the airline for items lost on the plane. Source: DGAC’s post of September 23, 2025 and the Agencia Guatemalteca de Noticias (AGN) report of September 28, 2025, checked October 22, 2026. The numbers are dated to that 2025 notice: confirm by message before relying on them.
Quick summary:
- WhatsApp 4325-9334: forgotten-item requests (DGAC, Sept. 2025).
- 3030-0922: communication and information (per AGN, Sept. 2025).
- 2321-5000: office line, 9:00 to 16:30 (per AGN, Sept. 2025).
- In person: the airport information desk or an airport security agent.
- Lost inside the plane? That is the airline’s process: contact it with your ID and boarding pass.

How to report and recover an item at La Aurora
- Contact the airport on WhatsApp 4325-9334 (the line DGAC labels for forgotten-item requests), call 3030-0922, or call the office on 2321-5000 between 9:00 and 16:30. If you are still at the airport, go to the information desk or ask an airport security agent.
- Say when and where: the date, time and approximate place where you lost the item.
- Describe it in detail: colour, brand, model and any other features.
- Leave your contact details: name, phone number and email.
| What to have ready | Why |
|---|---|
| Date, time and approximate place | To narrow the search |
| Colour, brand, model and other features | To identify the item |
| Name, phone and email | So they can contact you |
| ID and boarding pass (items lost on the plane) | The airline asks for them |
Before you go back to the airport
The 2025 notice does not give opening hours for the WhatsApp line or for the information desk, nor a storage period for unclaimed items. Message or call first and confirm that your item has been found before making a trip to La Aurora. For getting to and from the airport, see airport transfers; for the airport itself, see Guatemala’s airports and codes.
