From Guatemala City Airport to Quetzaltenango (Xela), the published choices include a school-arranged airport-to-bus-station shuttle and private transfers: Kamalbe lists approximately US$35.00 for a shared package that includes the bus ticket and a pick-up in Xela, checked 25 October 2026. Transportes Alamo lists Q104.99 per person for the capital-to-Xela bus leg on the same date, with a separate transfer to its capital agency. Neither price establishes a direct shared-van journey time or a guaranteed connection from a landing flight.

Quick summary

  • Airport pickup plus bus: Kamalbe describes its service for flights arriving early in the day; its approximately US$35.00 shared-service price was checked 25 October 2026.
  • Private ride: Kamalbe’s published per-person rates depend on group size. Casa Xelaju also confirms private airport-to-Xela transfers.
  • Bus boarding: Alamo’s capital agency is in zona 7; its booking form and timetable disagree on departures.
  • Returning for a flight: early Xela departures exist in Alamo’s booking form, but the pages checked give no airport arrival time that proves a morning-flight connection.

Published prices and what they cover

School-arranged pickup or private transfer

Kamalbe’s getting-here page labels the shared arrangement as a pickup service from the airport to a bus station, for flights arriving early in the day. Contact the school with your arrival details to establish the pickup arrangement, bus connection and destination pickup before paying. Its private-service rates above are explicitly per person, including the group rates; they are not vehicle prices.

Casa Xelaju confirms private transfers from Guatemala City Airport to Xela. Its transport request form lists the reverse airport trip at US$185.00 one way, checked 25 October 2026, and instructs customers to pay for private transportation at its office. That reverse listing does not establish the outward fare or the passenger basis: obtain those details with the quote.

Adrenalina Tours’ Guatemala City shuttle page marks Quetzaltenango as available only via private transportation. The same page states that shuttle services need reservations 72 hours in advance; it does not provide a fixed Quetzaltenango shared departure or a route fare. Its pickup directions for other destinations do not establish an airport pickup point for Xela.

Taking Alamo: airport transfer, then the bus

Alamo’s agencies page lists these addresses:

  • Guatemala City: 12 Avenida A, 0-65 zona 7 Guatemala, Guatemala.
  • Quetzaltenango: 6ta Calle, 12-14 zona 3 Quetzaltenango, Quetzaltenango.

The agency listing does not give an airport-to-agency distance, journey time or transfer price. Arrange that connection separately and obtain an estimated arrival at the agency before choosing a bus. The Q104.99 per-person Alamo fare, checked 25 October 2026, is not a complete airport-to-accommodation price.

Outward departures: the operator’s pages disagree

The Guatemala-to-Quetzaltenango booking form, checked 25 October 2026, prints these departure entries:

  • 6:15 AM
  • 8:15 AM LUNES A SABADO
  • 10:30 AM
  • 12:30 PM
  • 15:00 PM
  • 16:00 PM
  • 17:30 PM

The Spanish restriction beside 8:15 AM means Monday to Saturday. The unusual PM labels on the afternoon entries above are retained as printed.

Alamo’s separate timetable instead places the outward service under Monday to Sunday and prints 8:00AM, includes 13:45 PM, and adds 18:00 PM Solo Viernes y Domingo—the last entry is Friday and Sunday only. The booking form does not show those same entries. Confirm the departure and operating day directly when buying; an airport arrival time alone cannot resolve the discrepancy.

Linea Dorada and Galgos

No current route-specific Xela fare or timetable was verified for Linea Dorada or Galgos in the checks dated 25 October 2026. Older social posts do not establish a departure for your travel date. The broader Guatemala City to Quetzaltenango transport guide covers the city-to-city route separately.

Xela to the airport: early departure is not an arrival guarantee

The Alamo reverse booking form, checked 25 October 2026, prints:

  • 1:00 AM (SOLO LUNES)
  • 2:00 AM
  • 4:30 AM (LUNES A SABADO)
  • 6:30 AM
  • 8:00 AM
  • 10:15 AM
  • 12:45 PM
  • 14:30 PM
  • 16:45 PM

The earliest listed departure is 1:00 AM on Mondays only; the 2:00 AM entry has no day restriction beside it. The booking form restricts 4:30 AM to Monday through Saturday. These services go to Guatemala City; they are not airport drop-off promises.

The separate timetable labels the reverse route Monday to Sunday, repeats the Monday-only 1:00 AM entry, lists 4:30AM without the booking form’s restriction, and prints 12:45 AM where the booking form prints 12:45 PM. Neither page gives an airport arrival time. No departure here can therefore be presented as verified to reach a morning flight.

For a flight connection, get the expected bus arrival, the onward airport transfer and your airline’s check-in requirement before committing. A private quote also needs a stated airport arrival target. Use the La Aurora airport guide for passenger-service planning.
