SAT, Guatemala’s tax and customs agency, lists three customs posts on the Honduran border, and gives all three a Honduran address. They are aduanas integradas, integrated posts. Which one you use depends on where you are going: El Florido for Copán Ruinas, Agua Caliente for Ocotepeque, Corinto for the Caribbean coast and San Pedro Sula. At El Florido and Agua Caliente SAT’s customs window for tourists (atención a turistas) runs three hours past its goods window: 18:00 for cargo, 21:00 for tourists. These are customs hours; IGM, which stamps passports, publishes none.

El Florido: the Copán crossing

  • Litegua: its booking system lists Primera Plus departures from Guatemala City at 08:45, 12:00 and 15:00, routed Ciudad Capital – Teculután – Chiquimula – Jocotán – El Florido. Those departures appear, at Q120-145, in a Capital–Chiquimula search for 6 October 2026 (the same band shows in the El Rancho search); Litegua shows no separate El Florido fare. Litegua’s El Florido agency is at Km 218, 200 metres from the customs post (tel. 5204-7083).
  • Shuttles to Copán Ruinas: Guatemala Transportation lists 04:15 from Guatemala City and 03:30 from Antigua, both USD 50, returning from Copán at 06:00 (USD 50). From Panajachel it sells a 16:00 departure at USD 68 that overnights in Antigua (hotel not included) and continues at 04:00.

Agua Caliente: Ocotepeque

SAT places this post in Santa Fe, Ocotepeque, and lists tourist permits among its services. We found no bus operator that sells a ticket to this border on the timetables we read.

Corinto: the Caribbean crossing

Guatemala Transportation sells a Pullman from Guatemala City to San Pedro Sula at 05:30 and 23:00, USD 60, 10-11 hours, and names the crossing as El Corinto – Puerto Cortez. SAT lists the integrated Corinto post as open 05:00-22:00 every day, with tourists among its services. For the Guatemalan end of the Caribbean coast, see Guatemala City to Puerto Barrios.
