There is no Guatemala-Mexico crossing on this route. From Flores, the shuttle to the Mexican Caribbean runs east through Belize and enters Mexico at Chetumal. What happens on the way
The operator’s Flores page describes the trip like this:
- Vehicle: “These kinds of buses are TOYOTA HIACE 22-seaters , we do not use the auxiliary seats” (punctuation as published).
- Changes: “There are at least two changes.” The first is in Belize City, where passengers for Caye Caulker or Ambergris get off and the rest continue to the border in another vehicle. The second is after Mexican migration: a sedan takes Chetumal passengers from the border to their hotel.
- Stops: the operator lists obligatory stops at the borders, in Belize City and in Chetumal, and also in San Ignacio and possibly Belmopan, on what it calls a journey of about 9 to 10 hours.
- Not door to door in Flores: “In 2019 the Mayor of town decided that pick up and drop off between 7 am and 19 pm is not anymore possible in the hotels”, which is why pick-up is at the letters.
- Timing: “Collective shuttles are NOT punctual, you need to be 15 minutes before ready”.
- Booking: reserve 48 hours ahead; the operator only guarantees the service if prepaid 48 hours in advance.

The Bacalar drop-off
Adrenalina’s Flores page gives two different answers. The route note reads: “these bus stops first in CHETUMAL before ending in BACALAR (not a door-to-door service , stops in MAYAN CABANAS JARDIN near the Zocalo (central park)”. The information box below it gives the drop-off as Your hotel in Bacalar. Ask the operator which applies when you book.

ADO sells Chetumal to Cancún on its own site. The departures it listed for October 9, 2026, read that afternoon, were:

ADO labels each figure “Precio total aproximado” (approximate total price). These are the nine departures ADO’s results page showed for that search, on one date; other dates may differ. Prices are in Mexican pesos and are not converted here.
Coming back: Cancún, Bacalar or Chetumal to Flores
- Cancún to Chetumal on ADO. For October 9, 2026, ADO listed departures at 13:10, 17:10, 18:10, 19:10, 23:00, 23:30 and 23:59; the 13:10 arrives at 19:50. Prices were MXN 740, or MXN 850 on the 18:10 and 23:59.
- Chetumal or Bacalar to Flores with Adrenalina, daily at 08:30 from your hotel or address in the centre, US$65, 11 hours stated. The operator’s steps:
- “Step 1 > a taxi will pick you up and will bring you to the border”
- After Mexican and Belizean migration, a minibus takes you to Belize City.
- In Belize City you change bus for Flores; the page gives the arrival time as approximately 18:00.
- Not included: the page states No departure taxes included.
The same page gives both an 11-hour duration from the 08:30 departure and an approximate 18:00 arrival in Flores. Ask the operator which applies.
