Three sellers publish a weekday shuttle between Antigua and San Cristóbal de las Casas, and one of them also sells it from Guatemala City. This page compares their fares, times and drop-offs in both directions. The border itself, La Mesilla / Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, with its hours, documents, Mexican fees and safety warnings, is on La Mesilla border crossing, along with the shuttles from Panajachel, Xela and Huehuetenango.

Guatemala Transportation marks its Antigua to San Cristóbal shuttle “bus change at the border”. Adrenalina picks up at your hotel or address in Antigua and in Guatemala City, but its pages state that the San Cristóbal end is a bus stop at El Zócalo and not door to door. Its Guatemala City service runs “Always through Antigua as a connection point”, with luggage storage on offer.

On the road

Adrenalina Tours says the service is subcontracted and publishes its bus changes, stops and timing notes; those notes, and how its claims about border charges compare with the official fee texts, are on La Mesilla border crossing. Its own terms: one big bag and one handbag, 10 USD per extra bag, and booking 48 hours in advance.

Adrenalina picks up at your hotel or address in San Cristóbal for both of its services from San Cristóbal, and states that the ticket is not refundable. Its San Cristóbal page asks for prepayment 48 hours ahead and says it only guarantees the service on those terms. Note that its own figures give a shorter trip to Guatemala City (12 hours) than to Antigua (13 hours). The paperwork for leaving Mexico and entering Guatemala is on La Mesilla border crossing.

Other ways to Mexico

If San Cristóbal is not fixed, the Pacific-side crossings and the long-distance buses to Mexico are compared on Bus from Guatemala to Mexico and Tecún Umán border crossing.
