So this page is the calendar, built the slow way: every row below was opened at its own source page on September 4, 2026, and the date, venue, address and admission were copied from what that page actually said.

What the sources say about the Guatemalan connection. Most of these name Guatemala outright: the Providence and Moore festivals, the Embassy of Guatemala event, the Lynn celebration, and the Charlotte tour all carry it in the event name or organizer name. For the rest, the source states it in the body — Tickeri calls Alux Nahual “la legendaria y querida banda guatemalteca”; Common Hope describes Noche de Colores as its gala “celebrating 40 years of hope and opportunity in Guatemala”; the White Plains listing describes “una celebración de la mujer guatemalteca”; Eduardo Halfon’s page notes he holds the Guatemalan National Prize in Literature; and the Mayab’ page describes Aurora Chaj as “a K’iche’ Maya architect, researcher, musician, and artist from Guatemala”. The Pawtucket listing has no description at all — the name is the only signal.

Two Houston listings without a published price

Two Tickeri listings sit on Guatemalan independence dates in Houston, both billing Dulce Banda — the same act as the Charlotte tour date. Both had no tickets on sale and no price published when read, and neither listing names a country on its own page:

The recurring festivals

Three organizers use a recurring festival name, and they are at very different stages of publishing a next edition. Only festivalchapin.com publishes any edition history.

Festival Chapín L.A. — the 2026 edition ran August 29-30, 2026, and festivalchapin.com states the event is free and that no reservation is required. It is organized by Chapín Summer Festival Inc., a nonprofit registered in the State of California. As of September 4, 2026 no 2027 date is published. Full detail on its own page.

Festival Guatemala 2026, Providence — the one recurring festival on this list that is still ahead of us: Sunday, September 13, 2026, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at the Temple to Music in Roger Williams Park, free and open to all, run by the Guatemalan Center of New England. Full detail on its own page.

Chapines Fest — chapinesfest.com is live and says only “Celebrate Guatemalan Culture!” with an email sign-up form. As of September 4, 2026 it publishes no date, no venue and no admission price for any edition, and no Chapines Fest event was listed on Tickeri when searched. There is nothing here to report yet beyond the fact that the organizer exists and is collecting emails — so this page does not give it dates it has not announced.

How to find the rest

These are the places the events above were actually found, named as sources rather than as recommendations:

  • Tickeri — where the Guatemalan and Central American concert circuit sells. Of the search terms tried on September 4, 2026: “alux nahual” surfaced both Alux Nahual dates; “marimba” surfaced the Pawtucket listing; “independencia guatemala” surfaced the Charlotte date and both Houston listings; and “guatemala”, “guatemalteco”, “chapin” and “chapines” each returned only the Charlotte date.
  • Eventbrite’s Guatemala search for the United States — where the nonprofit galas, embassy events, city-hall celebrations and book talks are. This is where the DC, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, California and New York events came from.
  • Your nearest Guatemalan consulate — the consulates publish their own civic events, and they are the only source for consular flag-raisings. Addresses and contacts are in our consulates directory.
  • The organizers’ own sites — Festival Guatemala’s date, hours and free admission came only from guatemalancenter.org, and Festival Chapín L.A.’s only from festivalchapin.com. Neither was on a ticketing platform.

Ticketmaster does not carry these events

Worth saying plainly, because it saves a search: not one of the fourteen events verified here links to Ticketmaster. The paid concerts are all on Tickeri, the community and nonprofit events are all on Eventbrite, and Festival Guatemala in Providence is handled by the organizer with no ticketing platform at all. If you are looking for a Guatemalan festival, a marimba show or a Guatemalan rock concert in the US, Ticketmaster is the wrong place to start.

Are these dates confirmed?

Each row was read at its own source page on September 4, 2026 and reflects what that page said on that day. Organizers move dates and sell out; the source link in every row is there so you can re-check before you drive. The two Houston listings had no tickets on sale at all when read.

Which of these are family events rather than nightlife?

By what the sources publish: the Providence festival (11:00 AM-7:00 PM, free), the Moore, Oklahoma festival (10:00 AM-11:00 PM, free), the Lynn, Massachusetts civic celebration (5:00-7:30 PM, free) and the NYU book conversation (11:30 AM, free) are daytime and carry no age restriction on their listings. Every Tickeri concert here carries an age restriction — 21+ in Berwyn, Adelphi and Pawtucket; 18+ in Charlotte and both Houston listings.

Is there anything in October?

One verified event: Mayab’: Live Folktrónica with Aurora Nohemi, Sunday October 25, 2026 at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles. Of the fourteen listings verified here, thirteen fall in September and only this one falls in October.
