Two of the races in this guide had a published 2027 date as of 4 November 2026: the Max Tott half marathon on Sunday 24 January 2027 in Guatemala City, and the Guatemala Impact Marathon on Pacaya on Saturday 6 March 2027. Every other race below is listed as not announced, with its 2026 date as the pattern. The one that punishes late planning is Cobán: its 2026 places were gone by 13 February, about three months before race day.

Fees are in the currency each organiser uses. Conversions use Banguat’s reference rates for business day 3 November 2026 (US$1 = Q7.64; C$1 = Q5.46; £1 = Q9.80).

The two races you can book now

Max Tott, 24 January 2027. The race Emisoras Unidas calls Guatemala’s oldest half marathon starts at 6:30 a.m. at Cerro del Carmen and finishes at Campo de Marte, per the organiser’s 2027 graphics. The window that matters for visitors was scheduled to open on 2 November 2026: a limited tier for non-Guatemalans at Q230. General registration follows on 17 November at the same price; a final tier at Q240 opens on 13 January 2027 only if places remain. All tiers pay through Banco Industrial (agencies, Bi en Línea or maxtott.com). Categories, the course and the expo are on our Max Tott page; the January guide covers the rest of the trip.

Impact Marathon, 6 March 2027. This is a trail race on Pacaya volcano that closes a seven-day programme, arriving in Antigua on 1 March and leaving on 7 March. The organiser takes a £99 deposit and the balance in monthly payments. Race-only registration is offered to citizens and residents of Guatemala, which the organiser says opens in July or August (no year given). Distances, package contents and the day-by-day schedule are on our Impact Marathon page; Guatemala in March covers the Holy Week dates that follow it.

The races without a 2027 date

Cobán half marathon. Prensa Libre reported on 13 February 2026 that the organisers had closed registration because the field was full, with the race the organiser billed as its 50th anniversary set for Sunday 31 May 2026 at 7:00; the race began on 26 May 1975. In 2025 it ran on 25 May, with more than 8,000 runners expected, AGN reported. If you want a 2027 place, watch the organisers’ channels from the start of the year rather than waiting for spring.

21K Las Rosas, Antigua. The 2026 race was scheduled for Sunday 19 July from 6:30 a.m., starting and finishing at Antigua’s Parque Central, with entry at Q200 paid through a Banco Industrial agreement and a race expo at Plaza Telares on the Friday and Saturday before. The organiser, Más Deporte, ties the date to the start of the Santiago Apóstol festivities.

Guatemala City 10K, 21K and 42K. The Municipalidad scheduled the night 10K for Saturday 25 April 2026 and the 21K and 42K for Sunday 23 August 2026, the 42K billed as the city’s first official marathon, on a course to be certified by AIMS/World Athletics.

Other races. Emisoras Unidas’ 2026 list also names the Quetzaltenango 21K, the Maya Maratón around Lake Amatitlán (21 and 42 km) and the Esquipulas 21K; no 2027 date for any of them was found as of 4 November 2026.
