Centro Escolar Solalto is the APDE group’s boys’ school at Km 22.5 Carretera a Fraijanes, and an IB World School for the Diploma Programme since 19 September 2006. Of the four APDE schools on the IB’s register, it is the only one whose current IB subject list includes chemistry. It does not publish tuition. Everything below was read on 2 October 2026 at the IB’s register, MINEDUC’s registry and the school’s own pages.
Quick facts: boys only · IB Diploma Programme since 2006 · English and Spanish · November IB exam session · classes 7:00 a.m.–1:15 p.m. · new students up to tercero básico · tuition not published · MINEDUC codes open for primaria, básico and diversificado in Fraijanes.

The IB Diploma at Solalto
APDE’s secondary schools award the Guatemalan Bachillerato en Ciencias y Letras together with the IB Diploma. The IB record lists Solalto’s current subject registrations:
| On the IB record | Subject |
|---|---|
| MATH APPS | Mathematics: applications and interpretation |
| BUS MAN | Business Management |
| PHYSICS · CHEMISTRY | Physics · Chemistry |
| DIGITAL SOC. | Digital Society |
| SPANISH A LIT · SPANISH A LAL | Spanish A: Literature · Spanish A: Language and Literature |
| ENGLISH B | English B |
| THEORY KNOWL. | Theory of Knowledge |
Read against the other three APDE records: Solalto is the only one listing Chemistry and Spanish A: Language and Literature; it shares Physics with El Roble; and it lists no Biology and no Mathematics: analysis and approaches, both of which El Roble and Entrevalles have. The record shows current registrations rather than a full course menu, so ask the school what it offers.
What the school publishes, and what it does not
Tuition. “La colegiatura APDE Solalto puede variar según el grado académico”; for amounts and payment options the FAQ asks you to contact the school.
Admissions. Book a visit, a diagnostic test from Kinder upward, paperwork, enrolment. The FAQ gives tercero básico as the last grade at which a new student can join. No document list for a child arriving from abroad; MINEDUC’s rules are on enrolling a foreign child in a Guatemalan school.
Transport. Morning hubs at Deco City and Pradera Concepción on Carretera a El Salvador and at APDE Entrevalles, so families with a son at Solalto and a daughter at Entrevalles can drop both at one point. For afternoon extracurriculars the bus drops off at no extra cost at Colegio APDE Las Colinas, Centro Comercial Villa Clarita, the Volkswagen agency at Pradera Concepción, Distribuidora Mariscal, Hotel Hilton, Centro Comercial Metro 15, Metrobowl in Zona 15 and Paiz Avenida Las Américas. Door-to-door buses at a cost the page does not state.
Religion. APDE’s FAQ says all families, whatever their religion or situation, may apply; the schools are not part of Opus Dei, but the community’s spiritual care is entrusted to Opus Dei priests.
Two claims to read carefully. APDE says its schools are “los únicos colegios en Guatemala que ofrecen el programa del Bachillerato Internacional (IB)”. The IB’s register lists six Guatemalan IB World Schools, including Colegio Internacional SEK Guatemala, which also sits in Fraijanes (Primary Years Programme since 5 March 2026), and Antigua Montessori School (Diploma Programme since 20 December 2024). APDE also cites a top-5 place in “el ranking del Mineduc”; MINEDUC states that it “no elabora rankings ni listados de ordenamiento sobre mejores establecimientos” — see how school rankings in Guatemala are built (in Spanish).
The school year
Not published on the pages we read. The November IB exam session fits the Guatemalan January-to-October year — an inference from the exam month only. MINEDUC’s 2026 private-school calendar ran classes from 12 January to 15 October; see the MINEDUC school calendar.
