Camping at Tikal has an official camping-area tariff of Q50 for foreigners and Q10 for nationals, according to the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCD), read 25 October 2026; the tariff does not specify a charging unit or duration. Jaguar Inn Tikal separately lists US$15 per person for travelers bringing their own tent, camper or RV, read 25 October 2026, without stating an overnight charging basis or whether the official camping fee is included. Both prices are undated on their pages, and sleeping inside the park does not replace the tickets and authorized guide required for sunrise access.

Official camping fees and park admission

The MCD Tikal page lists the following undated tariffs, read 25 October 2026. These are official service tariffs, separate from Jaguar Inn’s own accommodation offer.

MCD serviceForeign visitorsGuatemalan nationals
Camping areaQ50Q10
General park admissionQ150Q25
Sunrise or sunset tour ticketQ100Q20

The official foreign-visitor ticket page requires general park admission to be purchased before using the camping area or taking a sunrise or sunset tour. The camping tariff does not state whether its charge is per person, per tent or per night. It also does not provide a campground map, rental-equipment tariff or campground-specific power details.

Where to camp and what Jaguar Inn allows

Jaguar Inn Tikal places its hotel inside the national park, 15 minutes on foot from the temples, by the hotel’s own description. Its camping page explicitly accepts travelers with their own tent, camper or RV.

Jaguar Inn’s US$15 per person camping rate, read 25 October 2026, gives access to shared showers, toilets and vehicle parking. The hotel page does not date the rate, state its price-validity season or say how an overnight stay is charged. It does not say whether the official camping-area charge is included. A written quote needs to clarify those points before there is a reliable total for the stay.

The camping page also lists free wifi in the restaurant with an asterisk, but the explanation is absent from the checked text. Confirm any conditions with the hotel rather than treating that listing as an unconditional connection promise.

Equipped tents and rental prices

Jaguar Inn’s equipped-tent page describes tents for 1 or 2 people and for 3 or 4 people. It lists mattresses, sheets, pillows and towels, shared shower and toilet access, and free wifi in the restaurant. The hotel says the tents are waterproof and stand either on an open grassy area or on a roofed concrete platform.

The checked hotel pages do not state tent-rental or hammock-rental prices. Its own-equipment camping rate is not a quoted price for an equipped tent.

Electricity and the limits of the facilities claim

Jaguar Inn’s homepage advertises solar-powered, 24-hour electricity for the eco-lodge. That statement does not specify sockets at camping pitches or RV electrical hookups. The showers, toilets and parking described above belong to Jaguar Inn’s offer; they do not establish what the official campground provides.

Camping does not grant sunrise access

MCD publishes regular public hours of 06:00 to 18:00, Monday to Sunday. Its extraordinary tour windows are 04:00 to 06:00 for sunrise and 18:00 to 20:00 for sunset.

The official ticket FAQ requires the specific tour ticket, general park admission and an authorized guide for sunrise or sunset. The guide is mandatory, is not provided by the ticket platform and must be hired separately, at the park entrance or through an authorized tour operator. The foreign-visitor ticket page likewise states that these tours do not include guide service.

For foreign visitors, MCD’s undated tariffs read 25 October 2026 are Q150 for general admission and Q100 for the sunrise ticket. These are access charges, not a guide quote or a camping package. Staying at the campsite does not remove those requirements; see the Tikal sunrise tour guide for the separate excursion.

Ticket validity when camping overnight

The official FAQ distinguishes advance purchase from use. Unused tickets have validity of up to 30 days after purchase, independently of the date printed on the document. Once presented and validated, a ticket is valid only for that day and cannot be reused on another date.

An overnight stay therefore does not turn a validated entrance ticket into access for the following day. Keep the accommodation quote separate from the admission and extraordinary-tour tickets needed for the dates you visit.
