The Basílica calls her Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Queen, Mother and Patroness of the Republic of Guatemala and Alcaldesa Perpetua (perpetual mayor) of the capital city. The Cofradía del Santo Rosario is based at the Basílica (Publinews), and the parish belongs to the Dominican friars, the Order of Preachers (the Basílica’s website); on November 1, 2026 the Cofradía marks its 467th anniversary.
