The cross-consulate view no single city page can give you

Every consulate page on this site already lists its own Saturday dates. What none of them can answer is the question people actually ask: “which consulates are open this Saturday?” and “when is the next open Saturday anywhere near me, even at a different consulate?” This page pivots the table — instead of one city with its dates, here is each date with its cities.

In short: MINEX scheduled 21 distinct Saturdays in 2026 across the 26 Guatemalan consulates in the United States, for 318 openings in total. Eight of those dates open all 26 consulates at once. Almost all remaining variation comes from five consulates — Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Lake Worth and Riverhead — plus the January split. 23 of the 26 consulates have exactly 12 Saturdays; Chicago and Philadelphia have 13; Lake Worth has 16. (Calendario Sábados Consulares 2026, MINEX; retrieved August 11, 2026.)

All 21 dates fall on a Saturday. That check matters: San Bernardino’s May cell in the MINEX PDF reads “2 y 13-May”, and May 13, 2026 is a Wednesday. We do not publish that date. It may be a typo in the document or a different event misplaced in the column; MINEX does not say, so we record it as unverified rather than invent a Saturday that does not exist.

The exceptions: extra dates versus moved dates

This is the distinction that disappears when you only read your own city’s list. A consulate with 12 dates may not have the same 12 as its neighbour.

Consulate2026 totalWhat it does differently
Lake Worth16Four extra Saturdays on top of the national pattern: February 21, April 25, June 27 and October 17
Chicago13One extra (February 21) and one move: August shifts from the 1st to the 8th
Philadelphia13One extra: March 21
Denver12Two moves, zero extras: September shifts from the 12th to the 19th, October from the 3rd to the 24th
Riverhead12One move: October shifts from the 3rd to the 17th
San Bernardino12The row carrying the May anomaly described above

Denver and Riverhead are the confusing case: they do not have additional Saturdays, they have different ones. If you live in Colorado and read that “the consulates open on October 3”, Denver is shut that day.

The January split looks non-random — the six January 3 consulates are Dallas, Del Rio, McAllen, Oklahoma City, Phoenix and Los Angeles, all in the south and west — but MINEX publishes no criterion, so we do not assign one.

What your consulate is called in the MINEX document

If you open the PDF and cannot find your city, it is probably labelled differently:

What you are looking forHow it appears in the MINEX calendar
SeattleEstado de Washington
RockvilleMaryland
New York (Manhattan)Nueva York, Nueva York (Riverhead is a separate row)
PhiladelphiaFiladelfia, Pensilvania
Los AngelesLos Ángeles, California
RaleighRaleigh, Carolina del Norte

Outside the United States

The calendar version current on August 11, 2026 adds five non-US rows:

Consulate2026 dates
Toronto, CanadaFeb 7 · Apr 18 · Jun 6 · Aug 1 · Oct 3 · Dec 5
Vancouver, CanadaMar 14 · May 9 · Jun 13 · Jul 11 · Aug 8
San Luis Potosí, MexicoJul 11
ChileMay 16
Costa RicaJul 11

We have no dedicated pages for any of those five. And London is not in the programme: the 2026 Saturday calendar contains no European post at all. For consular work from the UK or Ireland the reference is the Guatemalan Embassy in London, during ordinary hours.

A published date can disappear

Between our capture on July 22, 2026 and our capture on August 11, 2026, the MINEX calendar changed: the Lake Worth row no longer includes August 15. It went from 17 dates to 16. We corrected our Lake Worth page the same day.

That is not an administrative footnote. Anyone holding the July calendar would have driven to Lake Worth on a Saturday the consulate had no extraordinary opening scheduled. Confirm with the consulate before travelling, even when the date is published.

What MINEX does not publish in this calendar

Worth stating rather than filling in:

  • Hours. The document carries consulate and date. It carries no opening or closing time.
  • Capacity. It does not say how many appointments open per Saturday or per service.
  • Which services run that day. There is no per-date service list.
  • Addresses. The calendar does not repeat each post’s address.
  • The reason for the January split, or for the Denver and Riverhead moves.

For all of that the source is your own consulate: find yours in the state-by-state consulate lookup and read how appointment booking works.

Saturday service is not a mobile consulate

Agencia Guatemalteca de Noticias (AGN), the state news agency, describes the two programmes this way while reporting MINEX’s figures on December 17, 2025. The quoted wording is AGN’s, not a direct quote from MINEX — what that dispatch does publish as the ministry’s own words are the warnings further down:

Sábados ConsularesConsulados Móviles
What it is“Extending service hours to help nationals who cannot come during routine hours”“Bringing services closer to nationals in other cities where there is no consular office”
WhereAt the permanent consulateIn a host city with no permanent post
CalendarOne annual PDF, one row per consulateA separate PDF, updated during the year

If your city has no consulate, the programme that serves you is the other one: mobile consulates — what they are and how to find yours.

And one warning MINEX repeats in its communiqués: “La cita es gratuita. No permita que intermediarios le cobren por el servicio” — the appointment is free; do not let intermediaries charge you for it.

💸 Sending money back to Guatemala?

Banks add 3-5% over the Banguat rate. Wise and Remitly send at the real mid-market rate with a flat fee — and because they're funded from your US bank account or card, they're exempt from the new 2026 federal remittance tax (which does hit cash-based transfers).
