MRI prices by body region

| Cardiac MRI | Q7,072 | 926 |
| Bilateral arterial and venous angiography (upper or lower limbs) | Q8,510 each | 1,114 |
How the 115 prices fall: 62 exams are priced at Q3,224, 13 at Q3,952, 10 at Q5,455 and 9 at Q5,030; the rest are single exams or small groups between Q3,100 and Q8,510. Three lines are add-ons, not studies: a set of extra films (Q1,144), a 3D reconstruction (Q1,872) and the emergency MRI line (Q2,150).
Two oddities, as published: the right hip is Q3,100 and the left hip Q3,224. TecniScan’s web addresses for the lumbar and dorsal spine pages are swapped (the lumbar link opens the dorsal page and the other way round); both are Q3,224.
What the price leaves out
From TecniScan’s exam pages, read 1 October 2026:
- Sedation is extra. 91 of the exam pages say the sedation fee is not included. Studies with sedation require an 8-hour fast, and at Multimédica (and, on some pages, zona 9) they require an appointment.
- A recent creatinine test. The standard preparation line asks patients with chronic illnesses for a creatinine test no older than 15 days, plus 4 hours of fasting. The right-knee page adds that you can have the creatinine test done there for Q60 extra.
- Contrast. None of the 115 exam pages says whether contrast is included in the price. Ask when you book.
- Your doctor’s criterion. Every exam page notes that the study is recommended at each doctor’s discretion.
TecniScan’s index page says a scan takes 15 to 60 minutes and up to 90 minutes in complex cases, depending on the body region and whether contrast is used.
Where TecniScan does MRIs
111 of the 115 exam pages list the same five centres for MRI: zona 9, Majadas, Multimédica, Spazio and Amatitlán. The other four differ: the brain and lumbosacral-spine pages add CAES, El Frutal and CC Santalú; the prostate page lists Majadas, Multimédica, El Frutal and Santalú; the whole-body oncology MRI lists Multimédica, Spazio and Sixtino. The index page says TecniScan has 8 MRI machines in Guatemala. On appointments, 109 of the 115 exam pages say none is needed; five say one is (brain, lumbosacral spine, brain spectroscopy, right knee and prostate), the breast MRI needs one at Majadas, and studies with sedation need one at Multimédica. Booking is by WhatsApp (2429 3500) or PBX (1723).
