Every municipality in Guatemala celebrates an annual feria titular (patron saint festival). Below is the complete 2026 calendar for all 15 ferias in the department, with dates, patron saints, and the municipality that hosts each one.

The Feria de Jocotenango (Guatemala City, Zona 2)

Watch the name: there are two Ferias de Jocotenango on August 15, and the one most people mean is the capital’s. The Guatemala City Feria de Jocotenango — over 465 years old — sets up along Avenida Simeón Cañas and the Hipódromo del Norte in Zona 2, honoring the Virgen de la Asunción, the city’s patron saint (Municipalidad de Guatemala). Expect traditional food, crafts, mechanical rides, and stalls in front of the Parroquia de la Asunción. The Municipalidad confirmed the 2026 run: Saturday Aug 8 - Sunday Aug 16, 10:00-22:00 (announcement, Jul 30); the main day is always August 15, a holiday in Guatemala City only (not national).

Separately, the town of Jocotenango, Sacatepéquez (next to Antigua) holds its own feria for the same Virgen on the same day — a distinct event.
