In short: The 5B network describes itself as the largest ATM network in Central America and publishes a count of 2,600 ATMs (5b.com.gt, read 8 October 2026). BAC’s ATM Full machines run 24/7 but, per BAC, carry out transactions in quetzales only and serve BAC clients. BAC caps ATM withdrawals at Q3,000 a day in Guatemala. Banks set their own branch hours and must report them to the Superintendencia de Bancos (Ley de Bancos, Art. 43). No bank page we found publishes its ATM fee for foreign cards.

Corrected 8 October 2026: this page earlier said Banco Industrial charges the lowest foreign-card fee (Q25), that BAC ATM Full machines dispense US dollars, that most ATMs cap withdrawals at Q2,000, and gave branch hours and a Zona 10 ATM-density claim. None of those had a source, and BAC’s own page contradicts the dollar claim, so they are removed or corrected.

ATM networks

  • 5B: describes itself as the largest ATM network in Central America, with 2,600 ATMs, 3,913,667 users and 144,971,101 transactions a year, by its own count (5b.com.gt, read 8 October 2026). Banrural tells remittance recipients they can collect at 5B ATMs.
  • BAC Credomatic ATM Full: BAC says these machines are available 24/7 and handle deposits, credit-card payments and cardless withdrawals; the service is only for BAC Credomatic products and clients, transactions are in quetzales only, and each transaction takes up to 20 notes (baccredomatic.com, read 8 October 2026).

ATM Withdrawal Limits

BAC’s help page gives Q3,000 as the maximum daily withdrawal at its ATMs in Guatemala (read 8 October 2026). We did not find published limits for the other banks. Your home bank’s daily limit applies on top.

Banking Hours

Under Article 43 of the Ley de Bancos y Grupos Financieros, each bank sets its own opening hours and must notify the Superintendencia de Bancos at least five days before any change, so hours differ by bank and branch. On public holidays banks publish special schedules; Banco Industrial’s September 2026 notice, for example, kept mall branches on their normal hours and closed the others.
