Banrural Dollar Exchange Rate Today: Cash, Document and App Rates, Plus How It Ranks

Banrural’s dollar rate can be read in two places: on its own website, split into cash, document and app columns, and on the tipodecambio.deguate.net comparison table, which listed seven banks side by side in September 2026. This page reads both every day and puts them next to Banguat’s official reference rate, so you can see what Banrural pays for a dollar, what it charges for one, and where that sits against the other banks on the same day.

Banrural’s own board

Read from the rate widget on Banrural’s exchange-rate page (the widget loads Banrural’s own rate file; we store what it returns, unchanged).

Compra is the price at which Banrural buys dollars from you, in quetzales per dollar. Venta is the price at which it sells you a dollar. The gap between the two is what a round trip costs you: at a gap of Q0.40, buying back the US$100 you just sold costs Q40 more than the bank paid you for it.

Three columns, three prices. The Efectivo US$ column is for cash dollars. The Banca Virtual - APP column is labelled for Banrural’s online banking and app. On 24 September 2026 the app column was the better of the two on both sides (Q7.43 buying and Q7.79 selling, against Q7.42 and Q7.82 in cash). The table above shows whether that still holds.

Banrural against the other banks today

This row comes from the bank comparison table on tipodecambio.deguate.net, which our exchange-rate collector reads every day for every bank it lists. It is a second reading of Banrural’s rate, and it is what lets us rank Banrural against the others.

Banguat’s reference rate is the rate the central bank publishes each day, not a price any bank has to offer you. The middle column shows how far Banrural’s buying and selling prices sit from it.

Changing dollars at Banrural: what the bank lists

Banrural’s currency-services page says the operations can be done across its branch network and its electronic channels, and lists what it buys and sells:

• It buys: documents drawn on local banks, US dollars and euros in cash, transfers between your own accounts from USD to GTQ, and incoming transfers in dollars and euros.
• It sells: dollar drafts and cashier’s cheques, outgoing transfers in several currencies, dollars and euros in cash, and transfers between your own accounts from GTQ to USD.
• Requirements: an active checking or savings account, a valid passport if you are a tourist, and supporting documentation for the transaction.

Where these numbers come from

• Banrural’s board: the JSON file behind the widget on banrural.com.gt/site/tipo-de-cambio, read once a day by our collector. If the read fails, the table keeps the last good board with the time it was read, and the stamp turns red once that is more than 50 hours old; it never prints a blank board as if it were today’s.
• The ranking row and the 90-reading window: Banrural’s row on tipodecambio.deguate.net, from the daily exchange-rate readings we have stored since February 2026. Banks with a missing buy or sell price on a given day are left out of that day’s ranking. If a day’s collection fails, the previous day’s rates stay in place; the stamp shows when those rates were collected and turns red once they are more than 30 hours old.
• Reference rate: Banguat’s published daily rate.
