Ceramic floor tile cost Q49.95 per m² on sale (regular Q69.95) to Q134.95 per m² at two retailers. A 20 m² ceramic floor adds up to roughly Q3,900 to Q5,200 (about US$510-683) from those published pieces, the low end using that sale price.

Distribuidora Mariscal’s porcelain guide gives these porcelain prices:
- Porcelain overall: from Q89.95 per m² to more than Q349.95 per m² for imported high-end lines.
- Standard 60x60 cm porcelain: Q119.95 to Q189.95 per m².
- Imported large-format 60x120 cm: Q249.95 to Q349.95 per m².
Mariscal prints a per-m² price next to the box price, and five of the 20 Mariscal tiles counted (Q49.95, Q54.95, two at Q69.95, and Q79.95) were marked down from a higher printed price that day. EPA’s figures are the per-m² prices on its category page. The table uses the per-m² price.

These sums add published prices together; they are not a quote. They include no extra tile for cuts and breakage, no levelling and no removal of an old floor. The adhesive-and-grout figure is Mariscal’s number for porcelain, used here for ceramic too because it is the only per-m² figure we found.
Before you hire: six questions
- Is the tile in the price? Ruano’s listing excludes material; ask every installer.
- Adhesive, grout and levelling: who buys them? Mariscal adds Q24.95-34.95 per m² for adhesive and grout on porcelain.
- Is removing the old floor included? None of the listings above mentions it.
- What size are the tiles? Mariscal’s guide says large pieces and complicated patterns push labour to the high end.
- How many extra boxes should you buy for cuts? Ask the installer to count them from your plan.
- Is there a minimum area or a call-out charge? Ruano’s listing gives a price per m² only.

Mariscal’s guide puts porcelain from Q89.95 to over Q349.95 per m².
What does it cost to tile a 20 m² room in Guatemala?
Adding the published pieces: 20 m² of Mariscal’s cheapest listed ceramic at its Q49.95 sale price (Q999; regular Q69.95) plus Ruano’s Q120 per m² labour (Q2,400) plus adhesive and grout at Mariscal’s Q24.95-34.95 per m² (Q499-699) comes to Q3,898 to Q4,098, about US$510-537. At the tile’s regular Q69.95 (Q1,399) the sum is Q4,298 to Q4,498, about US$563-589. With EPA’s most expensive per-m² ceramic (Q106) the same sum is Q5,019 to Q5,219. These are published prices added together, not a quote, and they include no extra tile for cuts.
Does the installer's price include the tile?
Not in the listing we read. Multiservicios Ruano says its Q120 per m² is the price per square metre and does not include the material or repairs. Ask every installer to say in writing whether adhesive, grout, levelling and removal of the old floor are in the price.
