What the interior-design fee covers, from the studio’s list: design concept, a furnished floor plan, colour, finishes and furniture study, renders, a furniture proposal, specifications, elevations and sections where needed, detail and carpentry drawings, finishes, and a set of planning drawings (walls, ceilings, floors, bathroom details, plumbing and special installations, doors and windows schedules) plus budgets. Not included: the air-conditioning plan comes without calculations, and the lighting and power plans come without calculations or a technical report.
A worked example (our arithmetic): an 80 m² apartment at US$35-40 per m² comes to US$2,800-3,200, about Q21,396-24,452, above the Q15,000 minimum. Ask the studio for a quote; the rate depends on scope and production time, it says.
Interior designer or architect?
For building work (moving walls, new bathrooms, an extension), see architect fees, which covers plans and permit handling, and civil engineer fees. The interior-design packages above stop at drawings, specifications and purchasing; Decora’s guided package excludes civil, electrical and plumbing work outright.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an interior designer cost in Guatemala?
Two studios publish prices, read on 2 October 2026. Decora sells an Asesoría Express (styling advice, mood board and shopping list) for US$75 and a Proyecto Guiado with 3D renders and purchase management for US$360; its turnkey service is quoted per project. Does the interior designer's fee include furniture?
Not in the packages we read. Decora’s Proyecto Guiado manages purchases but the client pays the stores directly, and it excludes civil works, electrical and plumbing. Estudio ED’s design service is drawings and specifications: its lighting and power plans do not include calculations, and its air-conditioning plan does not include calculations either.

Is there an association of interior designers in Guatemala?
Yes: ASODI Guatemala, which says it was started by six women who studied interior design and decoration. It publishes a list of member studios and designers on its website, with each one’s services.
