The cheapest prices come with a 12-month commitment. If you are staying only a few months, the plan expressly sold without one is Smart Fit’s Plan Smart, from Q150.

Sporta publishes two price blocks, one for each of its locations (Km 18.5 Carretera a El Salvador, and zona 14, La Villa); the page text we read does not label which block is which, so ask the club for the price at the branch you want.
What the budget price leaves out
- Annual maintenance. Impulso Fitness charges Q150 a year on its VIP and Basic plans; its VIP annual plan has none. Across a year, the VIP annual plan’s Q1,680 (Q140 × 12) is its lowest-cost option.
- Exit fees. Impulso’s table lists an exit fee (cuota de salida) for leaving before 12 monthly payments, with a note that it does not apply to one plan. The amounts and the note are hard to read against the plan columns, so ask whether your plan carries it and how much.
- Commitment. Smart Fit’s Plan Fit and Plan Black lock you in for 12 months; the no-commitment Plan Smart costs Q10 more than Plan Fit.

Is there a sign-up fee at Guatemalan gyms?
It depends on the chain. Impulso Fitness’s comparison table shows enrolment as free on all three plans but charges an annual maintenance fee of Q150 on its VIP and Basic plans (not on the VIP annual plan). Smart Fit’s plans page lists monthly prices and commitment terms but no enrolment fee. Sporta’s price blocks show monthly prices only. Ask for every fee in writing before you pay.
Can I cancel a Guatemalan gym membership early?
Read the commitment line. Smart Fit’s Plan Black and Plan Fit carry a 12-month commitment (‘12 meses de fidelidad’); of its three plans, only Plan Smart is sold without one. Impulso Fitness says its annual plans cannot be cancelled early, cancellations must be made in person before the 25th of the month, and its table lists an exit fee if you leave before 12 monthly payments. Sporta sells 12-month plans.
Which gym in Guatemala has a pool?
Of the three chains on this page, Sporta is the one whose price page includes a heated semi-Olympic pool for lap swimming, along with squash courts, sauna and more than ten fitness classes. It has two locations: Km 18.5 on the Carretera a El Salvador and zona 14 (La Villa). Smart Fit and Impulso Fitness do not list a pool on the plan pages we read.
Can a tourist or foreign resident join a gym in Guatemala?
Impulso Fitness says in-person sign-up needs a DPI or passport plus a credit or debit card, so a passport works there. Smart Fit sells its plans online. If you are only in the country for a few weeks, Smart Fit’s Plan Smart, marked as having no commitment, is the published option sold without a 12-month commitment.
