On 24 September 2026 fence energizers at Chipcom and PREMA started at Q814 for PREMA’s pets and small-animals unit, or Q1,943 for perimeter units, and ran up to Q5,559.63 (about US$107, or US$254-728). Complete 25 m kits were Q5,207 and Q5,614, 500 m of aluminium wire cost Q433 to Q692, and posts Q73 to Q385 each. None of the six sources we read lists an installed price per metre, so the labour has to come from a written quote.

PREMA also lists an energizer for pets and small animals at Q814 (~$107). PREMA’s page says its energizers are sold tested only, with no warranty and no returns or exchanges. Chipcom’s page does not say whether its prices include IVA. The Chipcom rows are from the first page of its electric-fence category (60 of 119 products).

PREMA’s accessory list adds a ceramic insulator at Q53, a corner insulator at Q116, polywire at Q840 and fence testers at Q155 and Q404.
What about installation?
We read six Guatemalan sources on 24 September 2026 and none of them lists an installed price per metre or per job:
- Chipcom and PREMA sell equipment; PREMA’s page says its energizer price does not include installation or accessories.
- Inalarm shows the word Llámanos (call us) instead of a price on its energizer list, and offers account log-in and pre-registration.
- Constru-Cercos de Guatemala installs electric fences but asks you to request a quote.
- Industria Metálica El Aguila’s guide to perimeter-fence costs (28 February 2026) explains what drives the price without giving figures.
- A Construex exhibitor listing for electric fences has a contact form and no price.
The installed per-metre prices our web searches turned up came from Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Mexico. We did not use them.
Before you pay: six questions for the installer
- Which energizer, and how many metres and joules is it rated for? Compare the model against the table above.
- How many wire lines, and what gauge? The 16 AWG and 14 AWG aluminium wires above are priced per 500 m roll.
- How many posts, at what spacing, and are the corners reinforced? Posts are priced per unit.
- What grounding is included? One Chipcom energizer (SYSNG-HS) advertises ground supervision; ask how the fence will be earthed.
- Backup battery, siren and remote: included or extra? Key fobs, a remote control with a 120 dB siren and Wi-Fi modules are sold separately on the lists above.
- What warranty covers the equipment and the work? PREMA sells energizers with no warranty; ask the installer to put any warranty in writing.

How much does it cost to install an electric fence in Guatemala?
We could not find a published installed price. We read six Guatemalan sources on 24 September 2026: Chipcom and PREMA sell the equipment only (PREMA says its energizer price excludes installation), Inalarm shows no prices to the public, and Constru-Cercos de Guatemala, El Aguila’s fence guide and a Construex exhibitor listing publish none. Ask for a written quote per linear metre that lists the energizer, the number of wire lines, posts and the grounding.
What does an electric fence kit cost?
Chipcom listed two Yonusa kits for 25 m of protection on 24 September 2026: SYSNG-HS-25M-KIT at Q5,206.61 and YPROKIT25F at Q5,614.43 (about US$682 and US$735).
How much is electric fence wire in Guatemala?
Chipcom listed 500 m of 16 AWG aluminium fence wire at Q432.59 and Q459.90, and 500 m of 14 AWG at Q644.72 and Q692.29. Double-insulated 22 AWG cable for electrified fences was Q129.85 for 25 m, Q256.62 for 50 m and Q510.17 for 100 m.
Does PREMA give a warranty on electric fence energizers?
No. PREMA’s page says its energizers are sold tested only, with no warranty and no claims, returns or exchanges after purchase, and that the buyer accepts those conditions. Chipcom’s site links a returns and warranties page (Devoluciones y Garantías), which we did not read.
