Guatemala’s national golf association, ASOGOLF, lists seven golf courses. Five of the clubs that publish their own details are in Guatemala City’s zona 16 (San Isidro, El Pulté), San José Pinula (Alta Vista, Hacienda Nueva) and Villa Nueva by Lake Amatitlán (Mayan Golf Club). La Reunión, about 15 to 20 minutes from Antigua, has a par-3 course. On 1 November 2026, no club’s own site showed a green fee, so contact the club before you go.
Every course below comes from the club’s own website. ASOGOLF’s list was used only to find them. Where a club does not publish a number (holes, yardage, par), the table says so rather than guessing.

Mayan Golf Club (Villa Nueva, Lake Amatitlán)
Mayan Golf Club calls itself “El primer club de Golf en Guatemala y Centroamérica” (the first golf club in Guatemala and Central America). Its history page traces the club to a meeting of IRCA railway executives on 1 December 1918, and a first nine-hole course near the Pamplona railway station.
The current course. In the early 1960s the club bought land at El Zarzal Guillen, beside Villa Nueva, with a stretch of Lake Amatitlán shore. Architect Carl H. Anderson designed the original course after visiting in July 1962. The club house and the course opened in 1964.
What the club publishes about the course:
- 18 holes, each described on its course page. The home page gives the course as more than 7,000 yards, with views of Lake Amatitlán.
- The first nine has water hazards, wide fairways and what the club calls the longest hole in Central America. Hole 5, a 604-yard par 5, is listed as the hardest on the course.
- The second nine has the lake views and changes in elevation.
- Off the course: a restaurant, pergolas, a pool and a driving range.
Hours: Tuesday to Friday 7 am to 6 pm, weekends 7 am to 6 pm, closed Mondays. Phone (+502) 6685 5800; the contact page also lists (+502) 6685-5814 and WhatsApp.

It describes wooded fairways and strategically placed bunkers, with different levels of difficulty from hole to hole. Its home page lists a lagoon, tennis and squash courts, a heated pool and a children’s play area. ASOGOLF’s entry gives the same par 71, address and phone.

It also describes the club as an exclusive social club more than 25 years old, with a 16th-century chapel from when the property was a Jesuit convent. The site does not give the number of holes or the yardage. It has a membership request form with four types: couple, family, corporate and residential.
