Alpi Store says all its frames have the same price and that it works with thinned, photochromic, blue-light, progressive and bifocal lenses too; its page does not give prices for those. The site’s footer reads © 2020, so confirm the Q750 in the store.

The free exams are offered by shops that sell glasses; Optimiza describes its service as optometry and prescription lenses. Dr. Gómez is a subspecialist in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery, and his Q400 consultation covers eye pressure, the fundus and dry eye as well as the lens prescription.

The small print matters: OVA’s deal charged Q500 to switch to white bifocal lenses without anti-reflective coating and Q250 for a blue-light filter on single-vision lenses, and excluded progressives; Egavisión’s covered up to 4 of myopia, 4 of hyperopia and 2 of astigmatism, with bifocals for a Q200 surcharge. A stated regular value is the shop’s own figure in a promotion.
Before you order
- Bring your prescription if you have one. If you already have a recent prescription from home, ask whether the shop will fill it, or take one of the free exams above.
- Ask what the lens price covers: single vision, bifocal or progressive; polycarbonate or standard; anti-reflective, blue-light or photochromic. Moonstone’s Q1,400 applies only within a stated prescription range.
- Check the prescription limits. Moonstone’s Q1,400 listing and Egavisión’s old deal both set a maximum prescription, and Moonstone lists thinned lenses for a high prescription at Q1,750-2,500.
- Ask for the delivery time. OVA’s coupon promised lenses in 3 business days; ask the shop you choose.
- Keep the factura or receipt; DIACO asks for proof of purchase if you file a complaint (see filing a DIACO consumer complaint).

Dr. Bryan Gómez’s price page says it does not publish surgery tariffs, following the ethics guidelines of the Colegio de Médicos y Cirujanos de Guatemala. The budget depends on your prescription and the laser used, you receive it in writing after the evaluation, and the pre-operative studies (topography, pachymetry) are done separately.
