YouTube: Guatemala is on the list

YouTube’s help page on programme availability opens with “You can sign up for the YouTube Partner Program in the following areas”, and Guatemala is on that list. So are El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama. The page shows no date; we checked it on 29 September 2026.

What YouTube’s programme overview and eligibility page requires:

  • Country. “Live in a country/region where the YouTube Partner Program is available”. Guatemala qualifies.
  • AdSense. “Have one active AdSense for YouTube account linked to your channel”.
  • Security. “Make sure 2-Step Verification is turned on for your Google Account”.
  • Audience, one of two routes. 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.

Change announced for 2027. YouTube says that starting 1 February 2027 it is introducing updates to YPP, and that to continue fully monetizing you must review and accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by 31 January 2027.

Facebook: Guatemala and Spanish are on Meta’s list

Meta’s help page on Facebook Content Monetization country and language availability lists the countries under the heading “Facebook Content Monetization ads are available in these countries/territories”. Guatemala is on that list, along with El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Spanish is on the language list.

What the same page says:

  • Reels. “Public reels are eligible for monetization in Facebook Content Monetization as long as it’s published in certain countries and languages”.
  • Mixed languages. Meta notes that reels in multiple languages may not be eligible. If you mix Spanish and another language in one reel, keep that in mind.
  • Live. The page says “In-stream ads for Live is ending on June 15, 2026”. That date has passed.

Meta publishes its requirements for joining the programme on a separate page, which we did not review for this article. This guide therefore gives no follower or view thresholds for Facebook.

TikTok: no official confirmation for Guatemala

TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program help page requires you to “Be based in one of the countries where the Creator Rewards Program is available”, but does not include the list of those countries. The two programme terms pages we reviewed, for the United States and for the European Economic Area, do not list them either; the EEA terms say the programme “is available only in selected countries”.

The nearest official announcement for the region is TikTok Newsroom’s Latin America post dated 1 October 2025 on the Mexico launch. It says, in Spanish, “México se suma a países como Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, Alemania, Japón, Corea del Sur, Francia y Brasil” (Mexico joins countries such as the United States, England, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France and Brazil). It does not mention Guatemala or any other Central American country. The longer country lists that circulate online did not come from any official TikTok page we found, so we do not use them.

The honest conclusion: TikTok has not confirmed on those pages that Guatemala is eligible, and it has not said that Guatemala is ineligible. The way to find out is whether your own account offers you the option to join.

On VPNs. The programme terms for the European Economic Area require that “you reside in a country in which Creator Rewards Program is available and do not use a VPN or other similar tool”. The US terms require that the creator “is a legal resident of a country where the Program is made available”. Connecting through another country to appear eligible goes against those terms.
