Sipacate-Naranjo National Park and Poza del Nance
CONAP describes Sipacate-Naranjo as protected mangrove forest and a turtle sanctuary, with an area of 2,000 hectares and declaration year 1969 (read 25 October 2026). Under its opening-hours heading, the agency prints Acceso Libre. CONAP also asks transport boats to travel at reduced speed to avoid injuring turtles, especially at Poza del Nance.
Tours in El Paredon lists its turtle-watching tour at Poza del Nance plus a salt-farm visit at Q500.00 or $75.00 for 1-5 people, with a duration of about 3 hours (read 25 October 2026). Children under 7 are complimentary. The operator says the tour can be booked at any time of day, gives 8:00 am or 2:00 pm as its suggested times, and includes accommodation pick-up and drop-off.

How to Get There
Sipacate is approximately 104 km from Guatemala City in a straight line. Road distance is longer and varies by route; the main route goes through Escuintla department.
From Guatemala City:
- By bus: This page does not name a bus operator, terminal or fare: we print those only from an operator’s own timetable. The transport hub lists every route we have checked against an operator’s own timetable.
- By car: Take the main highway through Escuintla. Road conditions vary; check CONRED for updates.
- By car, to the national park (read 26 October 2026): CONAP’s Sipacate-Naranjo page gives “Ruta principal de acceso: CA-9 Sur”. Its directions continue: turn off at Siquinalá onto the CA-2 toward La Democracia and La Gomera, then follow the paved road to Aldea Rama Blanca, where the park begins; Aldea Paredón Buena Vista is reached by boat from Sipacate or from the landing called El Escondite.
