Where the Guatemalan places are
The Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim metro area has the largest Guatemalan-origin population of any US metro in the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS 2024 1-year estimates): 336,464 people (±20,661, 90% margin of error), about 15% of the national total of 2,174,242. The places we could verify fall into four clusters.
- Central Los Angeles: Koreatown, Pico-Union, Westlake and Downtown. Amalia’s Restaurant is on Beverly Blvd in what LAist calls Koreatown / Wilshire Center, and has been open since 1994, per LAist. Mi Cocinita Chapina is on Venice Blvd in Pico-Union, and Daly’s Guatemalan Stews is at 363 S Broadway downtown. Two Pollo Campero restaurants sit close by, at 7th & Alvarado and on W Olympic Blvd, and Pollo Pinulito’s announced store at 2021 W 3rd St is in the same ZIP code (90057) as Campero’s 7th & Alvarado restaurant, per the brand’s TikTok post and Campero’s locator.
- The San Fernando Valley. Puchica Guatemalan Bar & Grill is on Sepulveda Blvd in Sherman Oaks and El Sabor Auténtico de Xela is on Devonshire St in Chatsworth. Campero has Valley restaurants in Van Nuys, North Hills, Canoga Park and Burbank. Pinulito’s announced Van Nuys store, at 7207 Van Nuys Blvd, is on the same stretch of Van Nuys Blvd as Campero’s Van Nuys restaurant at 7249.
- South and Southeast LA. Shucos LA has its South LA location on E Jefferson Blvd and a second one on S Atlantic Blvd in Commerce. Campero’s restaurants in Huntington Park, South Gate and Lynwood are in this part of the county.
- The east side and the San Gabriel Valley. Antigua Bread’s café and bakery is on Huntington Dr N in El Sereno, and its website also lists a La Verne location. Campero has restaurants in Boyle Heights, El Monte and Covina.
In Orange County, the three Pollo Campero restaurants (Anaheim, Garden Grove and Santa Ana) are the only places we list so far.
What to order, by place
Every dish below is one a dated source named at that place. We have not added anything from menus we could not read.

Bakeries and Guatemalan groceries
- El Sabor Auténtico de Xela is a restaurant and bakery. Pan de Xela is among the items LAist named, and LAist’s photo captions show Tortrix, Chiky cookies and Tiky soda for sale there.
- Antigua Bread in El Sereno calls itself “A Guatemalan-American Cafe & Bakery” in its website title.
We have not yet verified a Guatemalan grocery store in the area. One market candidate in South Gate is in our database waiting for a dated signal, together with 9 other Los Angeles candidates; none of them is listed until a dated source confirms it.
Pollo Campero and Pollo Pinulito in the metro
Pollo Campero’s own locator listed 21 restaurants in Los Angeles and Orange counties on 2 November 2026, all in the table below. We show a store’s hours only where its page gave one Monday-to-Sunday schedule. For prices, see our Pollo Campero menu price comparison: its six-city price comparison includes the Boyle Heights restaurant.
Pollo Pinulito’s own website listed no California store on 2 November 2026. The two Los Angeles-area stores the brand announced on TikTok are in the openings list below and off the map until we can confirm they are open.
Upcoming in Los Angeles
The foreign ministry’s November 2026 mobile-consulate calendar (read 2 November 2026) lists no session run by the Los Angeles consulate; its October session was in Santa Ana on 17-18 October. The calendar itself says dates and places can change, so check the Los Angeles consulate page before travelling.
