What's the difference between COVIAL and PROVIAL?
COVIAL is the road maintenance executive unit — they publish scheduled repairs and bacheo. PROVIAL is the highway emergency response service — call 1517 for accidents or breakdowns on a national highway.
Why don't you have a real-time map of every closure?
Guatemala's road agencies don't publish a unified machine-readable closure feed. Until that exists, the most current source is each agency's social media. We embed those feeds here so you don't have to chase them across platforms.
