Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 collects anonymized data including pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country/city level), device type, and referral source. Google Analytics does not collect your name, email, or other personal identifiers. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Newsletter signup. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use your email only to send Guatemala-related content updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

Contact form / email. If you email us at stu@livinginguatemala.com, we receive your email address and message content. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

Cloudflare. Our site is served through Cloudflare’s CDN, which may set technical cookies (such as __cflb and __cf_bm) for security and performance. These are strictly necessary cookies.

Google Analytics. GA4 sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These cookies expire after 2 years or 24 hours respectively.

No advertising cookies. We do not run display ads or use advertising tracking pixels.

Some links on our site are affiliate links to third-party services including Wise, Remitly, SafetyWing, NordVPN, and services through Travelpayouts (Klook, Airalo, CheapOair, Aviasales).
