Mango season (March-June) is eagerly anticipated in Guatemala. During peak season, mangos are extremely cheap and abundant, sold by street vendors everywhere. Common varieties include the large Tommy Atkins, the sweet Ataulfo (honey mango), and the small, fibrous mango de pashte. Green mangos with lime, salt, and pepitoria (ground pumpkin seeds) are a beloved street snack.
