Banking options in Flores/Santa Elena are more limited than in the western highlands. Most ATMs are in Santa Elena, with only 1-2 available on Flores island itself. Always withdraw cash before heading to Tikal – there are no ATMs at the archaeological site.

ATM Locations

Banco Industrial in Santa Elena is the most reliable for international cards. On Flores island, the G&T Continental ATM near Hotel Peten and a second ATM at the island supermarket accept Visa cards. Dispensa Familiar in Santa Elena has an indoor ATM for added security.

Before Visiting Tikal

Tikal entrance fees, guides, and food vendors are cash-only. Entrance fee for foreigners is Q150 (~$20 USD). Withdraw at least Q500-Q1,000 in Santa Elena before your trip. The nearest ATM to Tikal is 45+ minutes away.
